Fine Lookin' Falangs!

Alright so time for a another blog already ahh!!!! time is flying far too fast for my taste at the moment.
So as I left off on my last blog we were preparing to head out to Khon Kaen by night bus. Well once finding the bus and saying goodbye to the host parents we headed out. The bus ride went from 9pm to 6am and this was a bad bus ride for me. I was still having back pains and I got maybe 3 hours of sleep. We arrived in Khon Kaen bright and early and found our beloved Brasilian Tylho and his wonderful host mom. Really his host mom is amazing, I am so jealous of him.
Anyways we drove from the bus station and Khon Kaen itself to his house which was half an hour away by car. Tyhlo lived in a auto parts store on the second and third story. Seemed nice enough and one of the best parts was that his bed was north american comfy, not Thai comfy. Alayna and I tried with no success to catch up on some sleep so instead we decided to catch a bus back into Khon Kaen to go to the mall.
We were blessed and got to meet up as well with Merriam. The Mexican girl who’s awesome at dancing. There was much hugging and screaming and just general happiness as we hadn’t seen her since DC which was also held in Khon Kaen way back in March.
After this we headed into the mall and went running around for a little acting like we always do. We even hit up the arcade and low and behold there was an ancient friend of mine. House of Dead. Its a zombie shooting game that I’ve played throughout my childhood and one of the few zombie games I could play. So I popped in a coin and got my butt promptly handed to m by zombies, oh its brought back great memories.
After a while I crashed losing all energy, it was at this point we decided to head to Merriam’s house and hang out there for a little, maybe even watch a movie. When we arrived even layed around and well I passed out at that point and found myself waking up 4 hours later with bead head and a fever...It was revenge of the sickness!!!!!! ahhh!!!! the horror!!!!.
Anyways we went back to the mall for Tyhlo’s mom to pick us up along with his host brother who had been at school. We said goodbye to the Mexican and rode in the back of the truck all the way home as I almost passed out.
I crawled to the bed where I went through shivers, pains, fever and god knows what else. It continued like that for the next day so I slept for most of the day and spent eating ice cream and watching the others play facebook games the rest. I finally got a little better as night came and though nearly passing out at the dinner table and having Tyhlo’s host mom fret over me and laugh when I chose to just eat ice cream. I made it to bed and slept slightly better. The next day passed much the same but with my facebook playing and oohing and aweing over the newest Glee episode.
I felt bright and refreshed the next day which was good as we headed back to the wonderful, colourful and awesome mall to meet up with Oscar, Ryan, Lucas, and Heather to see Fast 5. It was nice seeing people again and outside of Rotary functions where we could go at our own pace. When we went to see Fast 5 I remembered why Vin Diesel was one of my first crushes. That series also got me a love for good looking cars. Anyways I came out generally thrilled and an urge to go hijack something. While me and Tyhlo ran off to go play a round of ‘House of Living Dead’, Lucas got a call from Top, the Rotex who had come to my Canadian district last year. He was wondering if we were interested in playing soccer with some of his Thai friends. I though ‘heck why not, the last time I played I only ripped off a toenail, what could happen this time?’
We met up with Top (who is ridiculously good looking) and we piled into his car then headed off to a very official looking field. Only a few of the falangs wanted to play and since I was sporting flipflops I borrowed Tyhlo’s shoes and headed out.
It was generally a really fun game, Got shouldered by Lucas, and I kicked a few guys int he shins but it was fun, maybe not the best after being so sick yet again, but fun. Though something happened about a minute in, I may have killed Tyhlos shoes. the front part of the bottom detached from the shoe and I was constantly tripping and cursing his lame shoes.
After the game and much ingestion of water, the original three of us headed back to the mall to be picked up, but first came buying new shoes for Tylho, which turned out to be a near hour ordeal. That man is so picky with his shoes. I am not a shoe person so this was slightly torturous for me so I escaped to Asia Books and crooned over the massive Star Wars books. We finally made it home in one piece and stayed up for many an hour trying to load Fast and the Furious 4 as I hadn’t seen it yet.
I woke up early the next morning, well compared to the other two and sat around. We seem to do that a lot with Tyhlo. The day passed mostly like that, lazy people we are.
Alright Friday we actually got dressed and packed our bags and headed out. We were going along with the host brother to meet two of his cousins and some of their friends for a weekend in Chaing Khan. A tiny little tourist town resting on the Laos border. That meant a really long bus ride. We passed it with music and Mario.
We finally arrived around 7pm and waiting for us was one of the cousins. a Girl named Nee-Noy, she is a Rotex who went to Brasil last year and super fun to be around. She and her father took us to a restaurant to meet the rest of her family and have a nice dinner. We also met the other cousin, Moo, a cute boy who is my age, that woudl be coming with us on the trip. The meal was wonderful and we went around taking some silly pictures in the parking lot.
After they took us to a hotel where Alayna and I had one room. Tyhlo and his host brother one, and the two cousins the last. It was a simple place and just for a night. We had to wake up bright and early though to catch a large songtow for two hours to get to the place. We picked up two of the friends on the way. A tennis playing friend I dubbed glasses guy, and a really cute girl who’s name I completely forget.
When we finally arrived we met the last group member who would be joining us. Noey. He’s nuts, in fact lets just call him crazy guy.
We headed to the homestay which is the Thai equivalent of a bed and breakfast. We dropped our bags off and most of us passed out for an hour or two. When we finally got on our feet an headed out we actually rented bikes and then went off on our adventure. We had to bike for an hour or so but it was fun with lots of bike kisses and Moo and I trying to push each other off the bikes. We had to bike all that way for a small tourist trap centered around boat rides on the river separating Thailand and Laos. This river was one that looked willy wonka worthy. We bought some food then headed out on an hour long boat ride. It was nice and thought the white people just played ‘never have I ever’ and had some good laughs.
When the boat made it back to the dock we picked up our bikes and headed back which was slow and lazy and I got a bit of a tan in the 30+ weather.
When we made it back to the homestay I found that most people again passed out except crazy guy and a friend who had joined us for the day. Crazy guy was well crazy and drug me out to go buy snacks with him. He took me to the market and made me travel so many nasty things and i felt horrible but we had a good time. I found that crazy guy was surprisingly touchy for a Thai person. most people here would never touch a white person they had just met but well crazy is crazy.
We made it back to house and it was starting to turn into twilight so we headed out intot he famed walking street. It was really quite with many of the shops having an old fashioned feel. We walked up and down talking about life. When we made it back we decided finally to go for some Thai BBQ which is always fun. It started to pour down while we were at dinner and I sadly did not get to go play in it.
Anyways After dinner we headed back to the house and started playing card games. I was generally pretty good and came out better then some people. It was a ton of fun and almost everyone joined except Moo and Crazy guy as they were strumming on a guitar. I learned one new game that I’ll be bringing back to Canada which made some people crazy pretty fast. We played these games for a few hours then we all just settled around talking laughing and being teenagers. Most of us didn’t get to sleep until 4 but hey, it was a simple night.
we woke up groggy and we stumbled out the the songtow though we said goodbye to the cute girl and glasses guy as they needed to head home... through the morning it was decided we would not head back to Khon Kaen like first thought, we would instead spend a night at Crazy guy’s house, as he lived right next to the village in a hamlet. We got to his house and for the most part sat around. We were pretty bored but it was better then spending a good 4 hours on a bus in our state. I passed out early under the bug nettings.
The nest morning crazy guy took us to the bus station and we said goodbye to him. Then the 6 of us climbed on a bus and headed off. Nee-Noy and Moo got off the bus quite early on and we said our goodbyes to them which was a little sad as both of them had been really nice to us the whole weekend. We continued on our bus ride and finally made it to Khon Kaen. We were picked up by the host mom and taken home to some pizza and ice cream.
The next day we headed strait for the mall. no relaxing for us. I finally decided upon some books to buy. I bought the classics of Peter Pan, PHantom of the Opera, and Alice in Wonderland. I love Peter Pan as it made me love the live action movie even more then I did. Alice I had to give up after a chapter as it was so confusing and the writing style made my head spin. Phantom is super slow and literally half the book is the last 15 minutes of the play. Its rather painful and I’m still trudging though it though I may be skimming the pages now.
After the book store we headed to the arcade and we tried our hand at ‘House of Dead’ 3, which gave us shotguns which made my hand and arms sore but we still had fun quoting ‘dick figures’ from youtube as we did it.
After We decided to hit up another movie. Priest in 3D. my first 3D movie in Thailand. pretty expensive and well.. The movie was really meh. The entire movie was building up to the sequel. It made me pretty angry. Anyways it was a fun day and I rushed home to read my books.
We had another lazy day. dear we are horrible.
Anyways for our last day before leaving that night we again headed to the mall. This time Tylho and I went strait for ‘House of Dead’ and we both cashed in 100 baht for the game. It was awesome. We got so far and had so much fun doing it. Alayna and Merriam, who had come to visit us again were cheering us on and slotting in the coins every time we died.
After an hour of zombies we called it quits and walked around doing different things. We also got to meet an American university student who Tylho knew. She seemed nice though we had very little in common and it was pretty awkward. For our last night the host family picked us up and took up to a steak buffet. It was really really good and we laughed over many things though Alayna was starting to tear up as this was going to be our final hour with Merriam who is leaving at the end of May before Bangkok. We had some good laughs about cheese as we drove to the bus station to drop us off and when we finally made it it was a hard goodbye but I didn’t cry. It hasn’t sunk in that its truly coming to an end in less then a month.
The bus ride was pretty good for me though I got to run off 3 hours of sleep again. We made it back to Sriracha in one piece. The trip to Khon Kaen was mostly us on the computers laughing over videos or watching movies together but it was actually a lot of fun. Now I’ve got one more week before the big Bangkok sheebang so I’ll be waiting for that... then its well kinda the end. You’ll get two more blogs for sure. one for Bangkok which i should try to stop all parental figures from reading for obvious reasons and one recapping my entire year and believe me when I say that blog is going to be so amazing long.
Alright I’m off to sleep on the floor of Alayna’s room as I’ve basically moved in here anyways

Avoid Crowbars...Or Not Doesn't Matter to Me

alright.
So I tried to do this half a month ago but my internet pooped out on me. So here I am to do a full month’s blog. This is going to be interesting for sure... where has this month gone?
Anyways way back on the last day of March. Alayna and I were taken to the airport by my third host family and we met with the rest of the YE students from my district and we started out on our fabulous 10 day Chaing Mai trip. We flew up to Chiang Mai and started our adventure with a fantastic dinner. In Chiang Mai we went a tiger zoo and an elephant camp. We also got to hit up the famous Chaing Mai night market where I got to spend lots of my money. After Chaing Mai, we visited temples, home stays, and the Himalayas. It was really beautiful and even though I got a little sick at one point it was okay.
When we finally made it to Chaing Rai we got to visit the famous golden triangle and we even got to cross into Laos and buy awesome knock off goods like sunglasses and purses. After we were taken to a museum that told the history of opium and Thailand’s involvement. We were also taken to see the tourist orientated hilltribe area. It was amazing to see something in person after seeing it so many times in photographs. The ladies really had the elongated necks and stretched ears. They were extremely beautiful in a ver exotic way. We were then rushed to see the White temple which had murals of batman and iron man (that part made me so happy). The temple itself was breathtaking and I’m so glad we were able to see it. The last stop in Chaing Rai was a famous garden dedicated to the princess’ mother.
After Chaing Mai we were driven high into the northern mountains to visit tea farms. We also got to play in the rain and act like beached whales. Traveling from there we got to take the extreme winding roads to Pai, a beautiful little hippy town where I fell in love with the walking street and bought sabai pants and books. I also got to watch the moon rise up over Pai with some of my closest friends.
All too soon we were driving back to Chaing Mai to spend one last night in the northern city. We spent it out on the town. The last day was spent at the Chaing Mai zoo which involved fish, falangs, snow, and pizza company. Before we knew it we were then back at the airport and figuring out plans for Songkran.
When we touched down in Bangkok everyone parted ways, though agreeing to have one last bash in Bangkok.
I broke off with Alayna, Tyhlo, and Bryce as we headed for Bryce’s town of Korat. We would be spending the next week there for Songkran, which is Thai New year.
We took the evening bus and arrived late at the house. After a long sleep we hit the mall with everyone who would be part of our Songkran group. That included Cat, Susie, Giulia, Ray, Heather, Emily, and Inken. We went swimming and even met an AFS exchange student named Dom who was funny though so serious.
We got some mexican food and went to Banana which was a fun time.
finally Wednesday and the first day of Songkran rolled around. From the window the day didn’t seem that excited so me and Inken decided to go to 7 to check things out. We got soaked... alright rewind. lets all have a lesson on Songkran. Its a 3 day festival held throughout Thailand celebrating Thai New Year. it is a massive city wide water fight where people party in the streets from the crack of dawn till the moon is high in the sky. People will throw water on you or run up and cover your face in a baby powder/water goo for good luck.
Our trip to 7 pumped us all up and we headed out into the streets towards the center of the action. We partied in fountains, danced when everyone was looking and had more then one creepy thai guy kiss us.
We met up with some Rotex and their store became our home base, We soon found ourselves dancing in the streets and just generally having the best time.. I don’t even know how to explain how amazing it was.
Anyways when it started to get dark we headed back to Bryce’s house and got ourselves cleaned up by all showering together in our bathing suits in a space that was meant for a midget.
The next day we woke up with energy to burn out on the streets so we headed out as early as possible. We found our way to the base and we started our day. This day was a little bit different. We spent it all at the  store which is on the side of a major songkran road. we stood with buckets of water tossing it at people int he back of the trucks as they passed us at a snails pace. Met a lot of falangs from all over the world as the day passed. Some people headed home early and the rest of us ended up in one hell of a dance party in the middle of the road outside a mall. It was tons of fun thoguh at one point there were too many creepy guys for our small group of girls but we made it out okay besides a face lick.
I got the fun job of escorting to Brasilians back to Bryce’s which was a hard job as it seemed every boy wanted to touch their face and tell them how beautiful they were. When we finally made it back to the house it was pretty dark. the rest of the day was spent showering, talking and just thinking about life in Thailand.
The last day of Songkran rolled around and before we knew it we were back at the shop. This time we walked up and down the street just seeing everyone standing outside their stores and the happiness that seemed to ooze from everyone. We munched on hotdogs and KFC and  danced till we couldn’t dance anymore. People had drifted home in groups through out the day and I ended up going home by myself which was less scary then i thought it would be. After I had showered and changed Tyhlo and Iwent to 7 and were almost soaked again had we not shouted at the tops of our lungs for the man with the tub to stop.
Songkran over all was literally the best time I’ve had in Thailand. It was three days of water, powder goo, dancing, laughing, It was magical.
We hit up the mall one more time with the songkran crew and went to see Rio which some of the Brasilians so it was a lot of fun.
Anyways we hit up Banana one more time having a blast. i even met with awesome Norwegian guy named Bent, we had some great laughs and talks and it was a great end to the week over all.
All too soon Alayna and I were on the bus back home to Sriracha. Alayna was pretty sick with a cold and I was just bagged from all the traveling but we made it to her house unscratched. I found out that my third host family couldn’t pick me up for a week so instead I got to go with Alayna to stay a week with her second host family.
They took us out for dinner and were really nice and that night the host sister and even the host mom took us out to a club. The host mom came out with us. It was a fun time and the place played some good songs.
Most of the week we actually just spent around the house, but it was still nice. The family was all really kind and they let us play their playstation which seemed quite alien to these xbox hands.
On the weekend the host family took us to Dream World which was a blast. We hit up all the rides, got soaked, played in the show world like true falang, and had a good time until the rain kinda ruined the party. oh well. We made it back to the house without any harm.
The next day was mostly just packing and then the night market where I bougt some gifts for people which has made me wonder... should i buy gifts? If i buy gifts for one person i feel like I have to buy gifts for everyone. This trip is more about me, not about getting people something, right? I’m just in question right now about everything.
Anyways
After the week ended We were sent back to Alayna’s house where I was finally picked up by my host family and taken to Bangkok.. before being promptly being returned to Alayna’s house for the fact that we were going to head to Trat together.
Trat is Jessica’s town and we were able to squeeze in to visit at the same time as Inken, Emily, and Sussie. We packed up and headed out for Trat, a four hour bus ride later and we were in Trat meeting up with the other falangs. We fuond each other then headed out to the island of Koh Chang. The island was gorgeous and we of course hit the beach as soon as possible.
There was much swimming, lounging around, smiling, and CCCCCCCAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRLLLLLLLLLLLLLssss passed around. It was a great girls week though I got pretty dang sick with a fever, horrible back pains, and such a light head I almost started to float. Though it ended with me going to a pharmacy and talking with the really cute guy behind the counter.
Bought another dress which i think shall probably my dress buying career. Actually I think my spending career is coming to a close so that I can make it through the rest of my exchange and still make it one the trips I want to go on. Let see how well my extreme budgeting goes.
Anyways the Island week passed ina  flash and low and behold I’m back on Alayna’s bedrooms floor waiting for the bus tonight to take us to khon kaen..
alright I know this blog was verbal diarrhea and was all over the place, but hey, at least its a blog.

Slamming a Door in My Face Will Only Break Your Door

After my largely exciting and whirlwind week in Khon Kaen. Coming home to this quiet life was frustrating the first day or two.
This past week and a half have been quiet for the most part. I’m trying to recall the past days. I’ve mostly sat around loading movies and watching them. I’ve found some good movies worthy of me buying them. Right at this moment I’m watching Eat, Pray, Love and it is a wonderful movie. It makes you think of things in life and it also has given me a huge craving for real Italian food. It has also made me think about the places I want to travel in life. Italy has always been on my list and after watching the movie makes me want to go more then ever. I don’t want to just go for two weeks or something I want to go there for two or three months really get to know the world over there.
anyways I stop my inner monologue and get back to my blog.
On Tuesday at the Rotary meeting I found out that I’ll be moving families the day I go to Bangkok. meaning I’ll have to have everything packed for the day I leave for the Chaing Mai trip and my third host Dad who is driving me to the airport will take the rest of my belongings to his place. I and also Alayna have been invited back to Khon Kaen for a week after the Chaing Mi trip for the Songkran festival to spend it with Tyhlo and Merriam. We’re still working out a few kinks but I think it will all work out and I’m really excited for it as Khon Kaen is supposed to be a major happening place when it comes to Songkran festivals.
Wednesday I was taken to a wedding. It was a really cold day and the wedding happened to be outdoors.. man it was cold. I’m so scared about going back to Canada and freezing my butt off. The wedding was huge as it was for the mayor of Sriracha. He was pretty cute and the bride was very pretty. The food was food though it took so long. We got talking about weddings and I asked why they were so big here in Thailand. Its because they invite everyone they know, not just close friends and such, but everyone they know. So the weddings turn out pretty big, P’oats was well over a 1000 people. I then promptly had to explain the phrase ‘jesus christ!’ to P’Goy. Thai people baffle me at times. During the wedding I also got a phone call from Alayna freaking out of the latest Glee episode. It hurt my eardrums to say the least.
Saturday morning rolled around and I decided I should phone my brother to wish him a happy birthday. He didn’t know who I was for a good minute into the conversation. I’m really bad at keeping in touch with people over long distances, and it makes me sad that I’ve talked to my brother so little over the year. anyways I got to talk to both him and Carolyn which was nice. After I tried to phone my Gran who I love dearly and miss, but unfortunately  the connection was horrible and I couldn’t talk to her. I wish Thai people actually used land lines.
Sunday came around and I met up with Alayna at the mall. We went for pizza because we love to fill the fat north american stereotype. We then went shopping for some clothes. Alayna suddenly decided she wanted to dress like a guy. I on the other hand was looking for some cute high hells and some jeans. I found the jeans to the dismay that I’m such a large size. Shoes I was not so lucky. Here I’m a size 42 and in the entire mall one store had shoes bigger then a size 40 and they were all horribly ugly... I still want to go find some cute tops though.
After Alayna came to my house and well, we stayed up  pretty late. Monday we didn’t do much besides hit up 7 for some snacks. We just sit around and talk, watch movies and complain about various aspects of the other person.
Tuesday we both went to Rotary as Alayna’s parents would be picking her up after the meeting. We had some great laughs and great food. the meetings always pass faster with another white person present. I have to say though, the restaurant where we have our meetings have some of the best thai food every time I go there and I’m really going to miss it.
That night was not so good for me. I watched one of Alayna’s movies called ninja assassin which is pretty good guy movie except the head cutting off and such. Though that night my dreams were plagued by nightmares of ninjas popping out of the shadows
and you know, slicing my in half.. not good.. it also strangely involved ordering pasta in Italian...oh god I’m craving the pasta again...anyways Then at around 5 I was woken up by a huge crack. A massive lightening storm was over Sriracha, Each boom shook the house, and each stroke of lightening lit up my room through the curtains. I could even hear the moment the lash of rain hit my window. It was such a glorious hour as I listened and watched. I think I drifted in and out of dreamland making it that much more wonderful. I had been sleeping with my lights on due to scary ninjas until the power went out. Yet I wasn’t as scared anymore... I think that night is something I’ll never forget. Not scared or worried, not excited or stupid. I wish I could describe it fully but I really can’t...
Today I was told that I have to clean more. It hurts being told that. I know its one of my biggest faults. I’ve always been horrible at cleaning and keeping my room tidy. My mom has always gotten on my case about it every two weeks to clean the basement, clean my room, clean the bathroom. She would also get on me about why I didn’t do it before she asked. I really don’t know why I don’t. Maybe it’s because I’m a major procrastinator and I always think I’ll do it later, or I just push the mess out of my mind and step around it like I step around clothes on my floor. I know this is something I need to work on. I really do and I need someone around me who can get me to do it without making me feel like an idiot by the tone is their voice... Alright I’m rambling again and I’m sorry about that.
This week has been pretty lax and I’m sure up until next thursday will also be easy though I think I’m going to get my hair cut. Anyways..
Kyouhei out
oh p.s
after ( years of solid work and being a confidant to me. My straightener finally died.. It no longer heats p.. well the handle does but still. It has finally given up on me. Goodbye my dear friend.

A Glass Table Was a Bad Idea in the First Place

Alright heres another 2 week blog.. though this time I swear I have reasons as to why  I missed the one week mark...kinda anyways most of my day have been sitting around doing nothing so we’re going to skip those days and right to the exciting stuff
then tuesday came around..oh a wonderful yet hateful tuesday
alright I had to wake up at 5 am after going to bed at 12am. I had to be at the school before 6 to make the M4 and M5 trip. Alayna didn’t make it so it didn’t start out great. Lots of people and lots of talking. when everyone arrived we all piled into those awesome colour buses. I fell asleep almost right away, though at one point Pupay woke me up poking me and I told him that if he did it again I’f break his finger... 5 hours of sleep just isn’t enough.
We arrived around 9 at our first destination. the National museum of science. It was.. well it was a step down from the science center in Calgary but it was fun. The best part of there exhibition about sexual intercourse. They really dumb it down and just make it seem so robotic but I got some of the pictures of the signs they had... classic stuff right there. I started getting really hungry so we got some museum food... I never thought woon sen could taste bad, but the museum proved me so wrong. I ate it anyways and grabbed some more snacks for the bus.
We then drove maybe 20 minutes and arrived at the second and more desirable location. Dream World aka thai Calaway Park. We all piled off the bus and by which time it was sweltering out. I started sweating like a pig, and in my gym uniform it equaled really unattractive me. We then were let into the park, were we ran rampant going on rides and running around like idiots while inhaling numerous cans of 7Up to keep me hydrated.
There were three things I noticed about the day. 1- some of the rides you had to pay extra to go on, not just the regular park fee...what the hell. 2- there were so many male tourists walking around with no shirts and I waned to smack every single on of them, how completely disrespectful of a culture can you be? walking around a a beach? sure. An amusement park? no excuse, the girls we’re making it just fine so suck it up you babies. The third was even though the thai’s have this amusement park does not mean they can always stomach and enjoy the rides. I saw more then one carnie cleaning puke off a ride and almost all kids closing their eyes on the rides.
oh and the ‘grand canyon’ ride which is their version of a  log ride really stunk.
After we covered most of the rides we sat for ice cream and this group of maybe a dozen guys walked by. Wow... Some of those boys were smokin’ hot. As they were passing one guy caught me staring... and he looked back. Every time we passed again there were some looks  passing between me and mister hottie. A while later we were lining up for another ride and I started to get a huge headache. I sat out for the res of the rides and tried to swallow as much liquid and ice cream as possible. My headache didn’t get any better as we headed back to the bus.
As soon as we got on the bus I was asleep. I slept for a good hour. Suddenly I was woken up when someone decided to put on a music video on the tvs and just blare the generic beat. People started getting up and dancing and just my luck, my seat was in the loud section. Pupay was right behind me and him and his friends started screeching and yelling. I almost when Kujo...or what ever that dog’s name is on their face. I started crying it hurt so much. People took pity on me ad fed me an aspirin that didn’t work. Pupay couldn’t resist the yelling though. When the music finally turned off I was the one cheering and in a terrible mood. I snapped at everyone as they got of the bus and I feel terrible about it.
P’Boat came and picked me up and took me to the school where I sat and ate some rice while watching Mr. Bean. It calmed my headache until I got home where it reared up again and punched me in the head.
Thank god for advil and sleep.
Wednesday was a really late day. Also a lazy day of doing laundry. God forbid I even tried to load the movie Eclipse so I could laugh.
Thursday I met up with Alayna early at the mall to hang out for the first time in a while. We first hit up the movie theater and watched ‘I am Number Four’. Still love the movie.
After we went wandering around and found lunch at Pizza company, yum yum. We also went to starbucks, bought movies, you know, the usual. but, wait for it. I actually bought a girly shirt. Pigs must be flying around in that frozen hell.
Alayna then wanted to get her hair cut s we waited around for her mom and then we all went to the hair dresser and we sat as she got her hair cut. It looks super cute but while she was getting it cut I couldn’t help but say it would turn out like the ugly bob cut that all younger thai girls must have, i am one horrible friend. Once she was done with the hair cut we rushed to my house because it seemed that I would be staying at her house for the night and we would travel up the next day with some people from her Rotary club to the district conference. I packed my bags pretty quickly forgetting a few things i the process leading to a second trip to my house. I should have brought my carry on bag but I had to be dumb and just bring my backpack... Anyways we got to Alaynas and tried to watch some movies but we fell asleep in the process.
We woke up kind of early as we were told our ride would be there at 9. The car did not come until almost 11. We found out we had a 6 hour drive ahead of us. We kept busy with sleeping, music, sleeping, movies, sleeping tv, sleeping and eating. We finally arrived around 5 pm when we were supposed to arrive at 1. We got checked in and saw all the YE guys again. We got to our room after some chaos and we all headed down with our blazers for the ‘opening ceremonies’. It reminded me a ton of Red Deer weekend back in Canada but this was all old people. Though we did get to watch as some of the YEs had to dance. I also ran into Top, He was he Thai exchange student from my district back home so it was nice to see a familiar face.
We had an awesome dinner with a ton of talking and laughing we sat around for various speeches, an old person dance party before heading up to the rooms. After a few hours of wandering from room to room we found ourselves at the pool but we just dipped our toes in until Kumi decided to take a dip with all her clothes. She was soon followed by a few others until they were kicked out as the pool was closed.
We were given the rule by Rotary that we could go to the clubs as long as we didn’t excessively drink or make a commotion when we came back which I think is pretty damn awesome. A large group of us headed out, we even met up with mullet man in the lobby and he said it was okay. The first place we want to was, well...cramped. They had no space for dancing which is what we wanted to do. We only stayed there for maybe 20 minutes before searching for a better place which was soon found in a place called ‘Rad’. We went in to find a live band playing, and everyone just standing.. or swaying. So we decided to show them how its done. We even got the guitarist to let us strum on his guitar a few times. We had fun dancing around while thai people stared at us.  After the band started slowing down their music we went to check out the other side of the club which just played dance music. It was pretty empty so we made our way back to the other room where scantily clad girl we now dancing about on the stage. They then dragged Tylho up to dance with them. Then Susie and Cat. It was really fun to watch and we all cheered them on.
The club then turned on the dance tunes and we had a great time, everyone dancing with everyone. We finally headed home when it hit 2:30, we straggled back to the hotel and showered to get the massive amounts of sweat off our bodies, then we hit the bed with only 3 hours on the phone before we had to wake up for the next day.
We woke up to find we slept past the alarm and we only had half an hour before the meetings started so we rushed to get dressed and we ran down stairs only to find that the meeting was at least an hour behind and was not close to starting. We then had time to get some breakfast and properly get dressed.
For the firs half of the day we had to sit around and listen to thai speeches which I’m really no good at. playing hangman and reciting shakespeare helped pass the time. We then got to spend lunch with the oubounds who would be going to our countries. I even met the girl who will be going to my district. I’m going to ask if she can be placed in cochrane so then I can see her lots and make her feel comfortable.
After lunch some of us were spent to go cook our countries native foods. We were taken to a Rotarian’s house with about 15 of and told we had to cook everything in 2 hours, almost all the foods needed stoves and we only had 2... lets just say it was a gong show, fun, but a gong show.
We finally made it back in time to serve our food. Everyone who looked at our poutine said it looked and sounded disgusting but once they tried it, they converted to poutine lovers, even Alayna.
We also had to so up on the stage and receive certificates about our contribution to Rotary. It was fun and everyone cheered for everyone.
After that the meetings came to a close and we all headed to the rooms. There was more sitting around in thew rooms and talking until we were all brought to Giulia’s room to celebrate her birthday. We sang happy birthday in all the different languages but the absolute best was Inken who burst out in her best german voice as we had been teasing her the whole weekend about how German is a very harsh language.
we then smooshed Giulia’s face into the cake and took some photos. after awhile a small group including me headed out for a second night of dancing. We went to a fancy place this time. The bathroom was so pretty, like wow... yes i talk about bathrooms in my blog. Anywho there was a live band though I did not like them much and their music was hard to dance to, after awhile though they turned on the dance music... but it still wasn’t right. Alayna and Merriam were set on going back to ‘Rad’ so yeah we headed back there, well Alayna, Merriam, Tyhlo, Oscar, Pancho, and Me.  We got there and started to dance. The same scantily clad girls were dancing ons tage and they pulled up a white guy who tried to seduce the girl with a light stick.. it was horrible and hilarious. Then a large group of thai guys jumped on the stage, took off their shirts and started rubbing their abs... odd much? We danced some more until Merriam wasn’t feeling good and so we headed back to the hotel roughly around 3 am. We made it back but Alayna and I didn’t sleep till 4 due to long talks.
Sunday was an later get up and a sleepy breakfast as our small group was no working off 7 hours of sleep in 48 hours. Oh it was interesting. We did make it though with black circles and bags under our eyes. I found myself in Inken’s room where we sat and talked about the weekend.
We then slowly filtered down to the lobby taking our stuff with us. We then gave all our stuff to the front desk and headed over to Central plaza, the local mall. We first hit up bowling where there was a ton of laughing and horrible throws on my part. Suddenly there was a random Brazilian with us who turned out to be Tais, from the Bangkok district. She’s super nice. After we all went our separate ways for a few hours and Inken and I went shoe shopping and met some certainly interesting shop ladies. We then went to McDonalds and met up with everyone else once again. It started getting late so the girls headed back to the hotel and picked up our luggage. Top drove us in a cage truck to the bus station and we took an hour bus ride to Ludi’s house. We then got comfortable and spent the night playing chatroulette and sleeping.
The next day was a really late start and all the girls just lazed around in our pjs until we found the boys had invited themselves to Ludi’s house as they were bored even though we were not doing anything exciting either. soon the boys left and let the girls get ready as as emily said “I think this is the best I’ve looked in thailand’. We then got to ride in the back of a truck for an hour back to khon kaen to central plaza where we were told to wait around as some of the people went to ‘shoot ducks’. We were kicked out of the mall at 10pm and had to sit around for another hour before Top came to pick us up and drive us to Rad. We started early that night and ended late. I had a headache so I didn’t have much fun and got pretty depressed but it was still a fun night over all for most people. At 4 we went to a hotel room where Pancho and Edgar were staying and stayed there for a few hours before the girls left again for the bus station. this time so we could travel two hours to go to Heathers house though all of us were so tired that it was insane and traveling was interesting to say the least. once we made it to Heather’s half of us fell asleep right away and missed the graduation ceremony of the elementary school kids. We started sleeping around 9 and slept till 4 whoops. We then headed back to the bus station and traveled back to Ludi’s. his time we got there, bought some ice cream and had a good time. We then started up chatroulette again. Met an interesting guy from Jersey and two cuties from Brazil though Cat did all the talking then.
Wednesday came around. I woke up pretty early which was a little strange, but bummed around all the same until we started getting ready around 2. I even straitened my hair though almost no one noticed which made me kind of sad.. oh well. When 5 rolled around we piled into another truck, this one was a covered back which turned the space into a sauna with all of us in there, but we made it to Khon Kaen again! This time we went to Ludi’s parents noodle shop which was really delicious and we met up with all of the boys. Tais had to be driven to the airport so a few of the people went with her. We sat and played inappropriate games to pass the time. what fun. We were finally driven to Vintage where we hung around outside until 11 and then went in. There was much dancing, laughing, memories made and memories lot in one evening and I got tired and started to think to much equaling in me getting so majorly depressed, don’t you just love doing that? The night ended with all of us, boys and girl piling into the tiny truck, though dropping a few off on the way, coming to Ludi’s house.
I woke up rather early and bummed around until the boys and Merriam left. Slowly the girls started to wake up and pack. At 2 we headed out and said goodbye to Ludi who is leaving in two weeks... We were dropped off at the bus station. Everyone else's bus would come within an hour and be gone by 4. Alayna and mine bus didn’t come till 8..and we wouldn’t make it home until 5 am. We were able to make it  to the mall where we got some pizza and talked about the week’s crazyness.
We got back to the bus station and well, waited some more. One of the ladies was nice enough to point out when our bus came and we climbed on with our massive amounts of bags and belongings. We then settles in for the great 9 hour bus ride which consisted of much sleeping and music listening. I got to see stars again for the first time since the mountain trip. It made my night... It was so beautiful...
Anyways at 5 we were dropped off at the side of the road and called our families. P’Boat came and got me and got me home. I got in my room to find dozens of ants eating a sealed bag of rice...eeeewww. I stayed up not being able to fall asleep so I watched some movies and finally some my dream world after a week of being so alive

I WHIP MY HAIR BACK AND FORTH

okay, again with the missing the one week mark, but this time I actually remember what  has happened the past two weeks.
Actually if anyone actually keeps up with this and actually reads the things I write. I applaud you.
Waaayyyyyy back to the 15th of February. That was Valentines Day celebrations at school. I got to spend my entire morning making crown for Mr and Ms. Valentine (cheezy much?) It got me doing stuff and I got to watch new kids applying to Sriracha school as they came through filling out forms.
Last period before lunch the heavens opened up and just poured down and I got to go out and play. It was wonderful. I got yelled at no less then 5 times but it was so completely worth it. After lunch all the kids with english class in the block made their way to the space above the cafeteria, I hadn’t been up there since english camp so it was interesting to be up there again.
As people were setting up, over came Matt dressed up like Cupid. He makes one hell of an ugly girl but the over all look was really something and the kids went nuts for it.
Dino started it off and right away Steve and I started counting which Dino said more. It was a tie between “Happy Valentines Day” or “clap your hands”, I wont lie, it was a little nauseating. It was just a little too much for me..or Steve. I was just kinda blah so I didn’t enjoy it that much, but what ever.
Wednesday was a nothing day. i literally sat around all day and finished 187 pages of listverse.com. I then started on a new website, waiter rant. It’s an amazing blog about a waiter in new york. He’s a jerk and yet humble, I highly recommend it to anyone. I also found out Howards baby was born on Tuesday, same day as Alayna’s birthday. Though the one enjoyable part was it being the M6’s last day of school. It made me kind of sad of most of my friends are in M6 and I wont get to see them again. They went around signing each others shirts and I even signed a few, including my wonderful bow-tie guy, glasses guy, dumb guy. I’m gong to miss them. Other then that Thursday was slow to say the least
Thursday. FINALLY!! I got a text from Alayna saying she was bringing her parents that day during lunch time. At lunch I waited outside until I saw them. It had been over a week since seeing Alayna so it was awesome seeing her again. Her parents are also incredibly nice. We then all headed to the teachers room. Saw Steve and said hello but never got to say goodbye which was sad because it was our last time seeing him. Saw Matt and got to say both hello and goodbye. Howard of course was there and Alayna handed him twinkies. Saying goodbye to him was much easier as we’ll be seeing him again in May.
I was invited to go eat lunch with Alayna and her parents so we hit up MKs. We had a wonderful lunch then went back to Alayna’s house and while her dad took a nap Alayna, Her Mom, and I tried to book them a hotel for 1 night in Bangkok. It was a difficult experience since Alayna couldn’t help but say every time “there’s no free breakfast”. I was also invited to their Rotary meeting. We got there and it was a slow meeting and her club is much smaller then mine. There was a boy there who went on the exchange last year to Wisconsin. He was really funny and we had a few laughs before I had to leave.
Saturday was major clean up day and laundry day as Jessica was coming to see me the next day. So lots of cleaning and so forth.
Sunday. Well got a text from Jess around noon saying she was in Chonburi and would be at the mall in Sriracha in half an hour. I also got a text from Mint saying he would meet me there. Anyways I made my way there and met up with Mint, it was nice though nothing went down due to Thai culture.. dang that culture. Then Jess called me and I told her to meet me at the KFC on the first floor, little to my knowledge, we have two KFC on the first floor, after a few minutes of figuring shit out we ran into each others arms with laughing and such.
We then said goodbye to Mint and headed home. We also hit up 711 and got some snackums. We then stayed up late watching movies.
Sunday was shopping day. We spent the better part of the day at Robinsons. Watched ‘I am Number 4’ which is a super good movie. We also bought some stuff, though I only picked up some movies. We went out to dinner with my family to Yayois and Jess bonded with my family major time. It was one of those times where I really really hate the fact that I cannot speak thai. I also found out my host family thinks I don’t like being with them as a a family but I really suck at expressing it. I can’t real speak it and so when we do things like the dinner  usually sit and just observe. Bt I still really love my current host family. Maybe I’ll try talking to them about it.
Monday was photoshoot day. We got Jess all dressed up and headed over to the school when it started to rain...light bulb... We then headed out into the streets as it came down and got some amazing shots. they should be up on facebook within the next few days I promise.
Tuesday was another mall day and we were going to see another movie but we didn’t make it so we headed back home early and went to the rotary meeting. The club fell in love with her and most likely wish they had her instead of me.
Wednesday was another day of mall and movie. We saw a group of white guys who looked our age and Jess being oh so awesome walked up and said hello. turns out they are a touring band from Edmonton. They all seemed really cool and really good looking. I completely froze p and I’m extremely out of tune when it comes to flirting with white guys... After we stalked them for a little then headed to the movie ‘Green Hornet’.. it was pretty cute with nice lines. I really like Number 4 better but Jess enjoyed Green hornet better, just shows really our different styles. That night we watched Step Up 2 and it made me really want to dance again. I also dressed so street style the next day, I really love that style.. if only I was thin.
Thursday was a super super lazy day. We woke up pretty late and then went out for a photoshoot around the pool. We ended up hitting the mall AGAIN h god, the most I’ve been in that mall in a week since I got here. Jess bought some awesome pumps and I bought to no surprise, another movie. That night we stayed up watching criminal minds which scared Jess silly. I also found my left ear to have a riproaring infection, after alomst a month my ear finally gets a real infection forcing me to take out my earring and the hole is already closed up (@%!%&*$), it’s better now that the hole is closed and it’s healed I just wish i didn’t have to wait for it to fully heal before I go and get in repierced
Friday... Last day..we woke up and just bummed around until Jess left with P’Boat for the bus station. It made me super sad to see her go, and I was pretty damn bored for the rest of the day.
Saturday was well a boring day. I wasn’t even in the mood for star wars which came as a surprise. I watched them anyways and can I just say. WHAT THE HELL?! George has gone back in the originals and added scenes that were not there before, adding in random CGI effects and it really made me angry. The absolute worst part was on episode 6. They literally changed the entire last song. I almost cried as thats one of my favourite scenes.
We went out to dinner as P’Goy’s parents and sister were visiting. We went to MKs and had a great meal. I really love this host family for treating me, well, like family.
Anyways we end up here at Sunday of present day
so I guess see ya next week.

HOLY SWEET HELL, THEIR FOOLING AROUND!!!!! lol

February 13th blog
alright, here we go!
Monday. I got to school only to find out Alayna wasn’t there. a course of ‘awe hellz’ went through my head. Spending the day alone is pretty bad, especially since I’ve lost my schedule and don’t know any of my classes except for english classes. Thankfully I had english first. Started the day of with one of my favorite classes, an M6 class. One of our friends Ham aka Glasses guy is in that class and he’s always really nice to talk to. I helped most of the kids out with english homework from another class. low and behold they were studying a robert frost poem, the same poem I had studied in grade 12. I think the poem was far too advanced for them and their english abilities but i went along with it answering the questions they didn’t understand...which was almost all of them.
I was also lucky to have two english classes. The other being with the dumb class 5/8. I also get stuck working with a group of guys working on a speaking test. We didn’t have to present yet. these boys..their english wasn’t much better then my Thai. I spent the rest of the day in the teachers lounge on a website called listverse, its a very addicting website.
Tuesday I only had one class and again Alayna wasn’t there. I had to fill in for her int hat class and help the one group out. They were really nice and one of the girls I found out I have as a friend on facebook and she has seen some of my cosplay pictures. It was super funny watching them try to find the right words to ask about the pictures of me kissing another girl for the photo. They never got around to asking it =P so funny.
At Rotary that night one of my less favorite ladies started getting on me about not knowing Thai and it really bugged me. I know I suck at it and its one of the things I hate most about myself, but really I just don’t learn. When she started bugging me about it, it made me want to rebel and just never learn thai. she really frustrated me. Then she showed me how to write my name in thai, that made me angry, as I think she literally thinks me to be dumb.. may be the reason why she’s not one of my favorite rotarians.
Wednesday and still no Alayna. crap. I had all frees in the morning. more listverse for me. I also watched the two new Glee episodes and on a side note may I say shat has hit the fan on that show, almost everything is so messed up. Anyways I had sword fighting class but they were testing so I had to sit out. english was another testing day. My group went today and as always he tells me to slow down... not happening anytime I think. I also got to sit and listen to Matt and Steve bicker, always good to know that sibling love doesn’t go away with age (love you Aaron =P). I also borrowed Black Swan from Matt, what a good movie though a little creepy and...riskay at times, thank god I wasn’t watching it with parents.
Thursday, last day of the school week, because thankfully after a long talk with my host brother I was able to get friday off. I would only have one class with M6 and they were having exams so there would be no point. Also Alayna was a no show. All week, made me sad and a little worried, but she’s a tuff cookie. I twas really bad though as my only class was second last period. Literally 6 classes of list verse. In one week I’m on page 145 of 187, with ere being about 15 lists per page, someone save me. Thats also going to be my entire week next week.
After school though I got to see Mint and it being his 19th birthday where I got to tease him about him being older then me but still being in grade 11, I have far too much fun teasing that boy, I do not know how he puts up with me.
Friday was really awesome. I got to sleep in and have some really awesome ‘flashpoint’ inspired dreams. anyways lol. Another reason I got friday of as originally Alayna and I were going to celebrate her birthday that day as I wouldn’t get to see her on her actual birthday. Since she was sick I devised an awesome plan. After confirming it with her mom, I walked to Robinsons, which by the way it was stinking hot that day and I looked disgusting by the time I got there. So I got there then I went on a mad dash. Buying candles, lighter, presents which was two movies, Scream and Underworld. I had also done a drawing of her which I think turned out pretty crappy as I didn’t have a good   photo but I’m thinking its the thought that counts. I also had to pick up some gifts for other people. Then there was rushing around trying to find things. Finally it was actually buying the cake from DQ. Then I had to rush and find a tuktuk before the cake melted. Then it was a race to get to her house, not knowing the address, just knowing its near Assumption College. It all turned out though. I got to her house and thankfully their house keeper let me in. As quite as I could be I got the cake all ready then went up to her room and surprised her with the cake. She was sleepy and sick but i think she liked it. She also said I knew her too well when it came to her gifts. We then cut some pieces and feasted on cake while talking about the past week and the next few days as her parents arrived on Saturday and I’ really excited to meet them. I got to stay for dinner which was some Pizza Company, always good. I then got driven home by Alayna’s mom, man she’s amazing and like a second host mother I’m going to miss her so much when I go.
Saturday was a lazy day of just checking emails and watching the new young justice and can i say.. ew? I really hate Artemis so far anyways I’ll stop talking about things that people do not know. At dinner time I went down as always but none of my usual family was there. Only My oldest host brother who I rarely see, his wife, and their friend. Everyone else was gone and the trio was taking me out to dinner. We got to the restaurant and we had a good time. They fed me ginger saying it was pineapple...I no longer trust my host brother. during the evening I watched my brother consume quite a lot of alcohol. I also saw my first ever rat... on the door frame.. made me think of the ratatouille special features where they mention Alberta and how we have no rats. Anyways We were walking out to the car ad I was praying please do not let my host brother drive. During the dinner we was intoxicated enough to show me a crash he had been in two years ago. The two cars involved were completely trashed and if I didn’t know better I would have thought he didn’t survive. Anyways we got into the car and guess who was drivig and I started saying quietly “I’m going to die” well he heard me and decided to scare me by ripping out of the parking lot and around every corner on the gravel road and scarily we almost hot a post. His wife finally stepped in at that moment and made him drive semi-normally... I will never get in a car while he’s touched alcohol.
Sunday I woke up and went spent quite a while at the school trying to load videos. I need to buy some more movies. I also amused myself by watching shane Dawson... funny guy.
At 6 we went out for dinner at hot pot where I shoved myself with sushi and ice cream. I also got the initial go ahead for Jessica coming up her for a week. I’m not super excited!!!!
Today was Valentines Day... oh dear, even though exciting it made me feel lonely...I'm an idiot
In Canada at my school. Well it was a bit of a joke, most couples did something outside of school, maybe a few people sending candygrams to each other, nothing huge, maybe the school would get decorated. This morning when I got to school it was waves of roses, chocolates, and stuffed animals. It was crazy. everyone got something for their friends. Everyone was giving something to everyone else. I was in awe. I sadly got nothing from anyone, so much for Mint's idea that I'd get something from at least one boy. I spent most of my day helping the teachers for tomorrows activities. Drawing cupid wings or painting 'mr and ms valentine' on sashes. Tomorrow is certainly going to be interesting. I'll be sure to take my camera. I also got to have an awesome talk as always with Howard. Though today was all about past girlfriends and such. I really like listening to Howard. He's a great speaker and tells the funniest stories. I've also found a man who has had as many girlfriends as my brother =) Howard also found out his girlfriend was going in for a C section so it looks like he's going to have a little Valentine baby girl named Ellie
Mint, even though he's a little short on money he got me a rose and a... face cloth? I'm sure its supposed to be romantic <3
anyways this week has been interesting to say the least. I think thats all I have to say about it.
TTFN!!!!

I'm Feelin the Aster

Alright...
week...right... I'm trying to write this with a headache which is going to equal an interesting blog to say the least.
Monday... well monday was pretty slow. Slowly we've been going to less and less classes for various reasons and on Monday we have only two classes. Both of them being english, because Howard just makes our days that much brighter. I also got a watch from Mint. it's handmade band and it's really cute. ...or did I write my last blog on Monday...??? I don't know well anyways that was pretty much my monday so it doesn't really matter. Tuesday was an english class or two. I'm starting to really count down the days until school is over. It's bad isn't it? oh well. Alayna says I was in a bad mood but I wasn't just frustrated with some stuff. The rotary meeting was as always. Though this meet was really sparse with the members. Thankfully my sexy waiter was there as always to fill my glass. He gets me through the really long meetings. I also got a little worried as my club forgot to bring money to pay me, while I had spent all my money in Rayong thinking I would get paid. I wouldn't have had any money for lunches but thankfully they were able to get the money together for me on time at the end of the meeting.
Wednesday was Chinese New Year and so I was able to skip school for the day. I didn't personally get to do anything exciting except clean my room though I did hear fire crackers going off all day and people celebrating since more then half the people are chinese descendants.
Thursday was back to school. When we went o go bug Howard in the teachers lounge he started the joke of him being a huge sexist pig. It was great fun and it went on for possibly an hour of him teasing me and me writing lines of "I will not lie to Howard because he has a gorgeous ass". That's our day right there for you folks. After school instead of going home I had to go to Alayna's for the night as my entire family went to Bangkok and they don't trust me at home alone. We took a tuk tuk to her house and we then proceeded t watch tv shows and movies. Including a cute unexpected romantic comedy with the luggage named "louise" a cute movie with a lot of good lines...if only I could remember the name.
sleeping on the floor gave me cricks in my back like always but I made it to school that morning safe and sound... and even though i had remembered to pack all my clothes for the different days I forgot the second set of shoes so I looked like a dope walking around in my black shoes...
Ajan came up to us after lunch and asked us to perform something for the school on Valentines day. This kinda shook me up. I'm usually all for that stuff. But this time not so much from the get go. I really don't know why... in the end we were going to do 1 minute each of two dances. Soulja boy and jai ho. I'm okay with that. I think I could do it... then alayna wanted to add a korean song or a thai song to appeal to the gitoys. For some reason ti just bothered me and we got into a bit of an argument over it but I just really don't want to do the third part... it's kinda hard to explain..
Saturday... hmm saturday i woke up from one really awesome dream... sorry but I always remember my dreams and this one was really awesome and very movie like. I watched some of the free style skiing world championships on Euro Sport which was fun. I also watched it today and watched the Canadians take hone gold and silver, both mens and women's, in the duel moguls. Canada was certainly on top this year wining 8 gold medals out of the 12 categories. Made me so proud to be Canadian
The title of my blog just comes from this weeks episode of Young Justice. Man I love the show.
Anyways I think thats been my week..
also mom I'll answer you comments on this blog as I'm lazy like that. I know it was such a happy blog. The earring fiasco turned out fine though and though the piercing station we went to did have the piercing guns they sharpened the earring, the other places I seen here do the same thing.. yes cringe and shudder.
for your leg maybe you got one of those Bot larva in you like that guy on tv we saw on Koh Tao. maybe you wanna have that checked out =)

Hey Look, Another Injury!!!!

alright I'm a bad blogger and completely forgot the week before last and I cannot remember a damned thing about it so I'm skipping that week of my life, though I don't think it really matters. Only 3 people read my blogs.
Alright this past week Alayna and I headed out to Rayong to visit Kumi. Rayong is about 2 hours away and right on the beach. Originally when I asked my host parents they were sceptic. Alayna told me later that they had phoned Som to consult on wether I should be able to go. guess what he said. An absolute no way should I be allowed to go because it was so unsafe. Thank god Alayna's mom was able to talk to them to tell them how safe it would be.
Anyways. Saturday morning Alayna's mom came and picked me up. Then we were off to Rayong. We arrived at Kumi's host mom's hotel. We'd be staying there all week. We ate lunch and when Kumi showed up there was much hugging and laughing. Its always awesome to see another exchange student. Anyways once Alayna's parents headed off we checked into our first of three rooms. this was a really large room with 4 beds and such. We were only there for 1 night which was depressing. It was super nice and we just laid around for a few minutes before Kumi's two friends from school showed up and took us to the mall. We walked around and then we found a ear piercing place and decided, heck why not? Kumi got her ears pierced for the first time. I got a second set on my lobes, and Alayna got a second set as well as a new one in her cartilage. The lady did it by sharpening the earring then shoving it through our ear. Thank god this place was cleaner then the last place we stopped in at. After a little more of walking around and such Kumi's friends took us to the beach and said 'hey your going to go on a banana boat'. not the best thing an hour after getting your ears pierced but we thought why not. Well the lifejacket I had on decided to be a pain and rip out on of my new piercings as i fell off. Now I was down to three piercings because the hole closed before we could get a new earring in. Lame I know.
After... what did we do after? no clue. I know that night when we got back to the hotel Alayna tried to get us to watch Dead Silence. a horror about ventriloquist dummies. anyone who knows me knows those things are one of my worst fear, they give me major wiggins. The movie didn't last 10 minutes I think before we turned it off and turned on how to train your dragon. much happier.
Next morning we moved rooms into a large room with separate bedroom. We again got to hang out with Kumi's friends and again we went to the mall and again I visited the ear piercing place. I got a discount this time!!! Then we went to the night market where I got a severe case of "I'm so FAT!!!!!" After I found this one store full of amazingly beautiful tops and I couldn't fit into any of them.
The next day we were picked up by a friend of Kumi's family and were driven to a ferry. on the way we had fun waving to all sorts of people and seeing who would wave back.
When we got to the ferry we bought tickets an booked one night at a hotel on koh Samet. A tiny but pretty island. We waited quite a while for the ferry but thankfully we finally made our way out to the island and to our hotel. the hotel was little separate cabins all very close to the beach. It was kinda really expensive for what we got but what ever. After we got to our room we decided to go swimming which lasted for a very long time.  After we grabbed some dinner and by 6 o'clock we were in our rooms and well we sorta drifted in and out untill 10 when we went to bed. I woke up early so I could call Rob and wish him a happy birthday. it wasn't so much a surprise because he already knew I was going to phone.
After waking the lazy heads up we grabbed some breakfast then headed to the ferry to go back to the main land. Then there was much riding in backs of trucks where we all got sunburned...not fun.
Uhh the next day we decided we wanted to bike to the mall so we asked the hotel if we could rent bikes to bike there. what we got was two motorcycle taxis. Well we got to the mall safe and sound. We did some bowling where I lost... T_T and just walked around looking at stuff. When we went to take to motorcycles home I accidentally put my leg against the exhaust pipe... OUCH... and it was after I had a conversation with Pancho that I'm always the one to hurt myself... I cried the whole ride home but maned up and got some ice on it. I slept with ice and a towel wrapped around my leg and now it's but an ugly red mark on my leg. lets hope it goes away.
Ummm Friday I believe we were taken to an aquarium by Kumi's dad, it was small but fun as always. Then we went and hung out with the same friends.
Saturday was super lazy day. We didn't wake up till 11, so late. then we went for italian at a near by restaurant and it was super good!!! except super expensive. We also went there for dinner.. that was our day.
Then today we woke up and got picked up and vola here I am safe and sound with only 3 weeks of school left before summer break

tra la la la bamba

alright week right week.
the weekend was a little uneventful.
so monday. Monday was well monday.  I can't even really remember it lol. School was the same as always though I did give out gifts to my teachers on behalf of me and my parents. some coffee mugs, calendars and small wood statues. The people liked them (I think) so my job was done there. I also booked my flights home. I'm officially flying back on the 11th of June. In time to see people at school, my birthday, and most importantly CCEE. after school I got to hang out with mint before my class and he surprised me. I also found out Thailand has gotten to me and I've become a prude.
Tuesday... Crap, I can remember nothing of what happened at school... oh Matt stole the Canadian mug i gave to Howard. made me very distressed.
After school we we picked up by Alayna's mom and while munching on McDonalds, we headed to Bangkok for a celebration of the king at the grand palace. We made it there and took our seats. Even one of the princess' attended which was really awesome. I saw royalty!!!! She had a really cute son with her and yeah.. The show was interesting and had a lot of different aspects though english would have been much appreciated. When the show ended and everyone got ready to leave. Alayna and my eyes fell upon the sexiest man in all of thailand. he was gorgeous. He may have caught me staring.. then he watched us as we left I think to make sure we didn't stalk him..
Wednesday... why am I having such a hard time remembering???!!!
oh Wednesday, Alayna and I got to skip a class and go help MAtt with his class. we did "ask the white people questions day" Matt made up the questions and it was a lot of fun though it soon became a competition between Canada and America (like always).
Thursday was kind of the same. We helped Matt out with two of his classes which was again tons of fun. then as a thank you Matt and Howard took us out to lunch. It was just down the road but we had fun and some good conversations about life and such. I like talking with the english teachers outside of class and just about normal things.
Friday. Friday flew by pretty fast. Though something really hit me. Alayna and I were talking about her best friend Sam and how they do everything together. Then she said "except this exchange, and it was a huge mistake" I thought she meant Sam could have gone on the exchange as well. but she meant she coming on this exchange she then said "yeah, I wouldn't go back early or anything...". I won't lie and say it didn't hurt a lot, it did. I guess because I don't understand it. I don't need any single person in my life that much.
Anyways Friday after school Alayna had previously asked someone to go to the movies with her and this time it was my turn to be the third wheel. We went to see the social network, which by the way, is a really good movie. After While she said goodbye to the person I went ahead to McDonalds and ordered two bigmacs. This being part of the deal if she could ask the person in person. While I was ordering, two guys I sorta know from one of our english classes came in and ordered food. Then we started talking and they invited us to sit with them.
We had a great time. Both the guys were really nice though one couldn't speak much english. There was much joking around and stealing of fries from one another. We got to know each other better which was really nice. People from our school don't often approach us to get to know us. We found out it's because they are nervous about speaking english to us, which I think is dumb.
Alayna's mom came and picked us up and dropped me off.
I then proceeded to check my mail and I got some potentially bad news about uni and I just broke and started sobbing. A big  hug to Jess though who really helped me, as well as Mint who put up with my bad mood.
Saturday....uhhh.. well a lazy day for most of it, though at 5 P'Boat came to my door and told me I had to go to a wedding at 6.
well this wedding.. lets start with I've never been to a second-rate wedding before. The carpets leadign you into the room for the reception were stained. The chair covered were stained and ripped. The chairs were red plastic lawn chairs. The food was kinda terrible and just everything was... second best..
This is party because of the secret..very very very secret passion of wedding planning. So this wedding kinda killed me. So I got to sit there for 4 hours , not the most fun thing I could have done.
anyways that brings us to today.
sorry this blog was... lackluster on the info, my brain is a little rusty.

The Long Invasion

One Long Blog
wow...this is going to take a while to write down...
so it’s been what, 3 weeks, getting close to a month?
Having my parents in thailand was certainly interesting and a big adventure.
It started out on...well what ever day that was with my parents flight being delayed and such so I got to spend some time with Mint at tuition which is always fun.
When I finally got picked up and we finally made it to the airport and my parents plane finally landed I was getting a little excited. Finally I spotted them and I did what any self-respecting 18 year old would do. bound up and down like a 3 year old. Hugging, watering eyes and greeting were had. My parents met Som and my third host dad. we then piled into a van and were driven to our hotel, my parents were pretty bagged but we still went and walked around and down the street just to show them a little of bangkok.
anyways I’ll make the days go as short as possible.
day one: first stop was a boat tour through the klongs in bangkok. got to see a lot of neat things and more temples then we could shake a stick at. Then it was off to the grand palace where I would suggest to NEVER rent a audio tour guide (almost put me to sleep). After was.... where did we go? uuuhhh oh right we took a tuk tuk to a supposedly beautiful park that turned out to be a dud but we instead found a backpackers back alley with awesome restaurants and stalls selling great star wars t-shirts. We then went for my parents first thai massages which weren’t that bad actually though the people were a little soft on us We then got to make our way to the lrt and then to the Siam Niramit show that I went to before with Som. Both the parents were blown away by it so I did my duty.
day two.
went to a flower market in the morning, beautiful. then we headed to chinatown and saw a movie being filmed, but wayy to crowded there. Then we tried to find a ferry, well that was an adventure all on its own but hey we finally got there. We took the ferry to Wat Po, a giant reclining buddha temple. that buddha was HUGE! and the temple itself was pretty large. went running around there and saw the cutest little french girl with blonde curls. After that we crossed the river to Wat Aran. Another temple where you could climb up and see the skyline of the city, well kinda through all the smog (gross). by that time we were all templed out and found our way back to the hotel. We then had to catch a cab to the train station. literal train station where we would take a midnight train to a city down south which I don’t remember. Anyways got onto the train and well second class was...interesting to say the least. sleeping on the train was even more interesting. Horrible sleep with my headphones constantly trying to strangle me but I couldn’t sleep without them because the train was so loud. we arrived at our stop at 4 in the morning which was not a pretty picture for me. Then we took a bus to the pier which i met an awesome sexy french guy who was backpacking and wanted to become a chemical engineer or a physiotherapist. We got on the boat and headed for Koh Tao. Our first island. when we got there... well I went into shock. That island is not thailand. It’s closer to central america. almost all white people, almost no thais. everything was in english. then there was smaller things like there were zero pictures of the king. It bugged the hell out of me at first.
anyways we checked into our hotel then went to the dive shop and wound up diving that afternoon. We took a refresher course which was good for us then went for a fun dive though the dive was a tad crappy. Then once we got out I started to feel a little sea sick and missed out on my second dive and opted to lay n the boat and sleep...and again like in Japan, I got burned... what the heck. One guy who was a younger dive master was well...gorgeous. blonde hair. tan..sorry but he’s a guy I’d love to remember.
Anyways lol made it back to the beach and I think we just puttered around the rest of the day.
Next day i opted out of diving and me and mom wandered around. Got some great photos and saw some really cool things walking around the island. Its funny. there are literally 47 dive shops on that island. it’s all just scuba diving and bars there. I also let my mom fall asleep at the pool and get burned. i swear I thought she was awake.
The next morning I felt up for diving, something felt right about it. I was the only diver withTim, a good looking guy with one smokin sexy girlfriend. We had a great dive at shark rock though i was looking up half the time hoping for a whale shark to pass over. Whale sharks are my unicorns and seeing one, well I could die happy. saw barracuda and well the dive was pretty awesome. Got back to the boat and  we were heading to our next dive site when suddenly everyone was running to the front of a boat. A pair of pilot whales were a few hundred meters away. My first whales. I was tempted to dive into the water right there. Other boats started the charge for the whales but our boat was the lucky one. one of the pilot whales literally swam under the front of the boat. he was beautiful and most of the dive masters had never seen a whale so close. I thanked Poseidon over and over in my mind for that moment. Anyways I didn’t dive the second time but snorkeled. Fun chasing the fish around and I had a good time.
The last full day on Koh Tao was spent with my mom. we were going to do a long boat tour around the island and go to various snorkeling places. we we didn’t get a long boat. we bot a huge 30 person boat. my mom was not happy in any way. she warmed up after awhile and the day was nice. The third stop was the nicest with lots of fish and rocks and oh I ripped off the rest of my nail. it’s all now just skin and lumpy stuff, it looks great. We then were taken to twin beaches. Snorkeled and played with the underwater camera much to my pleasure. we were then taken back and met up with dad after his day dives and before his night dive. I can’t remember exactly what we di that night I think just walked around and checked stuff out.
Travel days are never really fun, but we took the ferry back and met the driver who was the owner of the hotel we were going to. Now my mom warned me it would be rustic. It was well....RUSTIC!!! It was about 2 seconds away from being the trek stop in the middle of the jungle were I was terrified of something large and furry touching my feet. well what a great way to spend christmas eve. pulled out crib but never finished the game, got talking instead to a family from singapore who was originally from england with two adorable kids. Lily and Edward. anyways we fell asleep that night listening to christmas music.
Christmas morning was a surprise with gifts stacked nicely on the chair. I’m so grateful my parents hauled all those gifts half way around the world and all through thailand just so I could have a surprise. After I was finished opening my mom made me and my dad walk outside. then she tossed us our annual escapade. silly string. War broke out in the jungle... I think I lost this year but it was so much fun. cleaning up was not so fun. After we headed for breakfast then a boat tour of the lake near by. The lake was gorgeous, surrounded by mountains and just so beautiful. We got driven around a little then taken to our lunch stop. before lunch we were able to jump in the lake which was so nice. It was bathtub temperature and just wow. I had a fun time swimming with Lily and Edward.
After an awesome lunch we were taken to a trail where we had to hike, then take a raft, then walk to a cave. this cave beat the heck out of the cave in costa rica by a long shot. it was small but so beautiful marred only by lily constantly going “can we go out of the cave?”. After a walk back and such we parted ways with the other family who were sleeping on a floating house on the lake for a night while we headed back to the shack cough i mean treehouse. It was a very different christmas though I’m lying to my mom saying “Worst. Christmas. Ever” comic book man style.
An early wake up and catching a minibus to a pier, with waiting and booking of more flights we then made it onto a much older, unsafe ferry. during to boat ride the people turned off the air conditioning...they must have been heartless to do that. Anyways our next stop. Koh Phi Phi (said Pee Pee for those people like my father and mother). This island was beautiful and well think of it like taking Koh Tao and mixing half thailand in. There were no cars, and lots of streets to walk through. we spent our first day just walking around. We planned a dive for the next day and got everything sorted for the rest of our trip which was nice for my parents me thinks.
The next day I was not feeling so hot so I opted out of the dive and my parents went without me. I spent the day roaming to island, walking from beach to beach. I found a little cafe and bookstore. I went browsing through the books and the first book my eyes zoomed in on. A buffy book. It was fate. I spent a great time reading and eating an awesome tuna melt before heading back. Went swimming in the ocean and cut myself on the rocks of course but it was nice. When the parents got back we went out for dinner and drinks. Went to see some fire dancing which was nice. I got volunteered for an intermission game where we had to pop other peoples balloons. It came down to me and an american. I won! take that america. I won a bucket..which liquid in it... took us awhile to get back to the hotel.
I felt a lot less then stellar in the morning and my parents left me alone in the room. I din’t make it out of bed until around 4. Once I finally got out we made it around for dinner on the other side of the island of a restaurant owned by a guy who survived the tsunami and rebuilt the restaurant from almost nothing. we bought his book which was quite interesting and saddening to hear his and other people’s accounts of what happened that day to them.
Again with the travel days.
back on the ferry then to the airport where we flew to BKK. I said goodbye for now to my parents and returned to Sriracha as they headed north to Chaing Mai. I finally got to sleep in my own bed for the first time 3 weeks. Though only for a night as I was whisked off to alayna’s for two nights to celebrate new years. first night was swimming, then the next day was bowling, karaoke, shopping and such in Bang Sen, then back to the house for a small party, ice cream KD, and movies. at 12 we were watching Shutter Island but we paused and fist bumped the new year, and truthfully I wouldn’t have wanted to spend it with anyone else.
I got a phone call from Mint to go to Tron with him and his sister, so me and Alayna hiked it over to Robinsons to meet them where we played air hockey and guitar hero. We then hit the movie which was awesome with great CG effects. We then got driven home by Mint’s parents...that was weird. Then we got taken right back to Robinsons for dinner. After I went home to my house. got to have a lazy day which was super nice after so much.
umm Then came the day where my parents would fly into Bangkok and come out to Sriracha to visit me and my town. Som and I met them and we headed to the fancy dancy hotel that was so swanky. We were then taken to Pattaya and were shown around. We then were taken to A Tiffany’s show. dozens of Transsexuals prancing about the stage is so little clothing and with such great bodies that I was green with envy. It was a really great show and even my Dad liked it. we were taken back to the hotel and Som left us for the night. Then the adventure began. I had to find a machine to fill up my cellphone so I could contact Alayna for what time she should meet us the next day. It took 4 7/11s and finally Robinsons, but I found a place to fill my phone up. Then we went for some sushi and then it was off to bed.
In the morning we were picked up and taken to the school by Som. we met up with Alayna and then headed to the english teachers lounge. My parents met Steve, Dino, Mat and Howard along with the other teachers I’ve grown to cherish. Som was pretty impatient and wanted to keep things moving but we were rebels and stay, an hour maybe lol. Howard was his usual charming self towards Som, man Howard your great. Anyways we then went to see my three host family houses. Then I got to realize. My third host family is so far outside of town. It actually hurt thinking about it. I just I don’t want to move. I love my second host family so much They re so nice and so like a family. I also like being in town. I can go places easily and just ugh... I’m not really excited to move.
When Som dropped us off at the hotel we made our way to robinsons were my parents got some massages and we went to MK’s for lunch. Then there was swimming in the very cold pool and much underwater photo taking. After we had to go to our club’s roatary meeting. They had this nice party for them with gifts and a fancy dinner and all these things that I didn’t get when I got there. It hurt a little. It was a nice dinner though when it came time for speeches I was told to go up, earlier in the day Som had questioned my ability to give speeches and, man I had to show him up, supposivly I did very nicely. There were much speeches and talking on pomp during the evening. After the meeting we all had full body massages which was super duper nice. We had to find our own way back to the hotel through back alleys...scary stuff.
In the morning we had the fancy breakfast anf then went for a walk to the floating island.   We played around with the turtle pond which held good sized green and hawk bill turtles, we met a man who was wearing a texas shirt but actually lived in Canmore!!! woohoo. We talked and at one point he said “the three best years of my life were spent in Texas” and I couldn’t help but say “how depressing”. he just threw his head back and laughed.
We had a coffee with some of my teachers who gave a gift to my parents and then we rushed to Swensons for icecream before making it back to the hotel and sending my parents off. I didn’t even tear up this time because really, 5 months isn’t that long.
Got to take a tuk tuk home, that was interesting
Got two days of school which seemed extremely mundane after a month of non school and many adventures, but it was fun. won a chesire clock out of the new years gift exchange in my class.
Having my parents here was an experience and I’m glad they came. This also marks my half way point through my exchange. I’ve learned so much already and made so many memories. I cannot wait for the rest of my exchange and everything it will bring me
